In 1988, Eric was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA)
In 1993 He completed his formal undergraduate education in business with an emphasis in finance from the California State University, Fullerton. In 1995, He completed a Masters of Business Administration in Paris France.
In 1999, Eric trained and completed his first triathlon in Los Angeles, California.

Mr. Kottke's experience includes: pension plans, banks, M&A, real property, complex/illiquid assets, various intellectual capital valuation, and financial instruments.
Since 2000 his area of primary activity was within alternative investments. As a result of contributing to the upstart of a small-mid cap equity fund, Mr. Kottke created an independent alternative investment advisory firm. He performed numerous proprietary fund searches through this operation. His skill is evidenced such that he successfully avoided numerous failed investment operations some of which later became notorious.
